Salone del Mobile in Milan: photographic exhibition “Vino. Beyond objects "
"Starring role at Vinitaly 2019 is played by our territory, of which we feel proud ambassadors worldwide: the Valpolicella Classica - states Nadia Zenato - with its most iconic wine, Amarone".
Amarone, a Made in Italy excellence, along with Lugana from which our history began 60 years ago - Zenato continues - is the wine that most represents the path of quality and historicity that holds the distinguishing mark of our brand. It is the result of a rigorous manual selection of the best grapes grown in our Costalunga Estate, a large and modern vineyard, great care has been taken over every detail, where modern agronomic techniques are applied together with the traditional cultivation one which still today have proved to be substantial and moreover, they have made the agricultural landscape of this valley famous all around the world”.
Amarone Riserva Sergio Zenato, an emblematic label bearing the founder's signature, will be the protagonist on Tuesday April 9th (11:00 am, Sala Argento, Palaexpo, Veronafiere) with an exclusive vertical tasting, “Amarone. Beyond time". "We will go back over the years - says Alberto Zenato - until 1980, passing through the years 1990, 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2011, to follow the evolution of Valpolicella’s great red, among climatic changes, rediscovery of native vines, evolutions in the vineyard and in the cellar ". Sommelier and journalist Daniela Scrobogna will be leading the tasting, together with Alberto, Nadia Zenato and Silvano Tempesta.
Whereas, Amarone Riserva Sergio Zenato 2006 will be poured Saturday April 6th 2019 at the prestigious OperaWine appointment, during the Grand Tasting of the Top 100 Finest Italian wines selected by the well-known American magazine, Wine Spectator.
On Sunday, April 7th (2.30 pm) Zenato’s Amarone Classico will be part of a vertical tasting organized by The Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, and dedicated to the excellence of Italian produce (Pav. MIPAAFT). Vintages poured at the tasting: 2011, 2009, 2004 and 2006, again selected by Wine Spectator among the 100 best Italian wines.

Wine. Beyond objects
The photographic exhibition in collaboration with Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera
Presented in Verona on April 3rd at Biblioteca Capitolare
Exhibition in Milan alongside Salone del Mobile from 8 to 18 April 2019
The intimate connection between winemaking tradition and experimentation emerges and finds a voice in this new project: "Vino. Oltre gli oggetti" ("Wine: Beyond Objects") created by the Master's Program in Photography at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera Arts in Milan, which will be followed by other three “experiences” in the coming years, this time, with International Photography schools.
Inaugurated in Verona at Biblioteca Capitolare on Wednesday April 3rd, the photographic exhibition is set up in Milan from 8 to 18 April 2019 alongside Salone del Mobile, at Bottega Immagine (via Farini, 60). On Friday April 12th, Zenato family will hand over 5 scholarships to the young photographers who took part in the project.
The five students of the Brera Academy, Giacomo Alberico, Cecilia Del Gatto, Alessandra Draghi, Cesare Lopopolo and Anna Vezzosi, coordinated by the professor and art critic Luca Panaro, have investigated the objects used for the production of wine, bringing to life a latent meaning, rethinking them in a new and fresh way beyond conventional use. And this is how the lands of Lugana and Valpolicella, the vine, the wooden barrels, the glass apparatuses, instruments and machines, become, through the photographic imagery and pure analysis of five young creatives, something "beyond" compared to their primary use.
"Here is a new project, a new challenge, the desire that has always distinguished us in looking beyond, exploring beyond what we already know - says Nadia Zenato -. It was very inspiring to see young artist at work who with a new and free gaze focused on a meaning that goes beyond the specific meaning of our daily work instruments. Our passion has always led us to weave the work of winemakers with respect for the land and a natural drive towards beauty and art, which today is also expressed in the wine photo exhibition. Beyond objects”.
Wine and Design in the synergy between Zenato and Opinion Ciatti
Zenato and Opinion Ciatti, the Tuscan design house, work together to promote the same universe of values made of tradition and creativity, craftsmanship and technique, passion and style.
At Vinitaly, Zenato stand will be set up with some Ptolomeo Vino pieces, a bottle rack born from the transformation of Original Ptolomeo, the iconic library of contemporary design.
During Salone del Mobile in Milan, Ptolomeo Vino will serve as a holder for Zenato’s bottles expressing objects with a strong decorative character.
